Jaguar's X-TYPE may be the best-selling Jaguar in history, but for 2004, the all-wheel drive compact luxury sedan is being made even more appealing. In a bold move, Jaguar has realigned the price of the 3.0 liter V6 X-TYPE and added equipment worth over $2,000. "The aim here is to widen the appeal of our flagship X-TYPE and reposition it into the heart of the compact luxury sedan market," explains George Ayres, Jaguar North America's Vice President of Marketing. The 2004 X-TYPE 3.0 will be equipped as standard with a power moonroof, a split-folding rear seat, a wood/leather steering wheel, 2 extra speakers for the standard 120-watt audio system and auto-on headlamps; equipment valued at $2,225. And, by popular request, all X-TYPE models for 2004 gain an additional front cup-holder. The X-TYPE 3.0 is already one of the best-equipped cars in its class; standard features include a five-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels (a new design for 2004.), leather upholstery, sapele wood trim and an eight-way power adjustable driver's seat. It also continues to be the only car in the premium compact segment with all-wheel drive as standard. |
