Tomorrows Children’s Golf Outing Huge Success

From left to right: Bob Kaminski, Jerry Forhecz, Ande Anderson, & George Gunn

On Monday, October 5th, the first annual Jaguar/American Express Golf Classic to benefit the Tomorrows Children’s Fund was held at the Ridgewood Country Club. With sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70s, the weather could not have been better. The event was an enjoyable treat for all involved.

Three lucky players got the opportunity to shoot for one million dollars. One participant’s ball landed an incredible 7 feet from the hole. Imagine being 7 feet shy of one million dollars!

The event turned out being the 3rd largest fund raising event for Tomorrows Children’s Fund with over $60,000 raised for the cause. Thanks goes to all who supported this event, you all made a real difference in the life of a child.

Steinway Piano Adorns the Pre-Owned Showroom

Bergen Jaguar’s Pre-Owned Showroom now showcases a beautiful black Steinway Grand Piano from the Steinway Piano Gallery located just across the street from Bergen Jaguar.

If musically inclined, we welcome you to visit and try out the Steinway. Bergen Jaguar employees have already had the honor of listening to some of our most musically talented customers.

If stopping by, or getting your Jaguar serviced, feel free to come in and take a Steinway "test drive". Even if you don’t play, still come by, because the Steinway even plays itself. Controlled by a computer, the piano plays by actually moving the keys as a pianist would. It is truly a 20th century convenience, just insert a floppy disk and you have an instant concert!

Jaguar Beats Mercedes-Benz and BMW in J.D. Power Survey

Jaguar’s improved quality has been getting the recognition it deserves. J.D. Power’s Satisfaction Index rating for Jaguar has improved for more than 5 years in a row. The reason behind this is that Jaguar customers are more satisfied with their Jaguars than ever before, because of the car’s improved quality and the high service standards from their local dealers.

Even in a climate where every car manufacturer has been generating better ratings, Jaguar’s improvement is still second to none. When J.D. Power first launched their Customer Satisfaction Index in 1986, the industry average was 100. This year the overall average is 146. Jaguar’s outstanding score is now 159, beating its two main European rivals, Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

The World’s Most Traveled Jaguar XK140

Sometime in late 1954, a beautiful white Jaguar XK140-C roadster with red leather interior was manufactured by Jaguar Cars in Coventry, Great Britain. It was then shipped to Rallye Motors in the United States. In May of 1962, the XK140 pictured above, returned to the United Kingdom and became the property of Richard Woodley.

Just a few weeks ago Richard and his XK came back to the U.S. to do a road tour of the East Coast. Upon returning home to the UK, Richard Woodley’s little white XK140 will have crossed the Atlantic four times. So you’re looking at one of the most traveled Jaguars ever!

If you have any Jaguar travel stories let us know and we’ll be glad to feature you and your Jag. You don’t necessarily have to travel oversees with your Jaguar, the good-old U.S. will do just fine. E-mail Christopher Kaefer at christopherk@bergenjaguar.com.

Spotlight on Bergen Jaguar Customers

Sometimes the best way to learn about someone is to ask their friends who know them the best. At Bergen Jaguar we recently took the time to do just that, learn what out loyal customers and greatest fans really think about us. Who couldn’t use a little praise every once in a while?

Lynn Gildea loves her XJS convertible. Driving one of the few rare 5 speeds ever manufactured by Jaguar, Mrs. Gildea has a particularly special Jaguar. What does she say about Bergen Jaguar? "Everyone is so cheerful and pleasant at Bergen Jaguar, I get all my questions immediately answered." If you aren’t as much convinced by words than actions we can also share the fact that Mrs. Gildea also recommends Bergen Jaguar to her close friends, several of which also bought Jaguars from us.
